Optometrist
Dr. Hetel Bhakta is a board-certified optometric physician who specializes in keratoconus treatments with a primary focus on fitting scleral lenses. Dr. Bhakta helps keratoconus patients reach their best visual potential in a comfortable and healthy corrective option.
Dr. Hetel Bhakta is certified in MiSight and orthokeratology for the treatment of myopia progression in children and young adults. Dr. Bhakta’s focus is on the prevention of sight-threatening diseases associated with high levels of myopia and as such has implemented a myopia control program in her practice with the use of the FDA-approved MiSight lenses and Corneal Reshaping Therapy (CRT).
Dr. Bhakta completed her Optometry degree at Manchester University, the U.K. in 2002 and her Doctorate in Optometry at the New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA in 2008. She has additional residency training in ocular diseases accredited by NOVA Southeastern University, FL. She has extensive experience working in medical optometry and providing treatment and management of eye diseases such as keratoconus, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In addition, she has served as Faculty Clinic Instructor in the Optometry school at NOVA Southeastern University. Dr. Bhakta has always been involved in her professional organization and currently, she serves on the Palm Beach County Optometric Association board.
Dr. Bhakta has dedicated herself full-time to her practice. With the current myopia epidemic in children, teens, and young adults, her main goal has been on improving the overall quality of her patient’s sight and lives. She is a caring and compassionate eye doctor who takes the time to address her patient’s concerns and always puts the patient first, ensuring they are cared for beyond their expectations.
Optometrist
Dr. Pham was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States at the age of ten. She is fluent in both English and Vietnamese. Dr. Pham earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biology in 2005 at George Mason University. She then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University (PCO), where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry in 2009. During her training at PCO, she successfully completed the Advanced Studies Program in pediatrics and binocular vision. She has been cited for clinical excellence in the pediatric internship by the Faculty at PCO.
Dr. Pham completed her residency training at Omni Eye Specialists, a multi-disciplinary practice. Dr. Pham has extensive experience treating and managing various eye-related diseases and continues to practice ocular disease treatment and management within a primary eye care setting.
In 2010, Dr. Pham moved to sunny Florida with her husband and practice optometry in Palm Beach County. In 2015-2017, she participated in a clinical trial at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami, where she was certified as a Masked Examiner and a Vision Therapist. Dr. Pham joined Planet Vision Eyecare in 2019 and practices full-scope optometry with a focus on pediatric and adult binocular vision and vision therapy. Dr. Pham is passionate about providing her patients with exceptional eye care.
In her free time, Dr. Pham enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, and camping with her husband and three children.
